Governor of Cross River State, Senator Professor Ben Ayade has acquired state-of-the-art digital strings equipment for his band, Ayade Band.
The leader of the band, Effiom ‘Trombone’ Bassey was all smiles when he made this known at the Governor’s Office, Calabar while taking possession of the equipments ordered from Germany. He thanked the Governor and his dear wife for finding him worthy to be a member of his family.
The Ayade Band is the Governor’s official music team set to thrill the governor and his guests at State functions. The Governor had made a pronunciation to empower the band go digital long ago by acquiring equipments befitting his personality and at the fullness of time, he fulfilled his promise.
The band leader, Effiom Trombone, who is a renowned musician, is the Director of South Central Band. He started his career playing the Trombone while studying at the prestigious Hope Waddell Training Institution. Effiom is the immediate past Chairman of Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Cross River State Chapter, also the progenitor of Paradise Music Festival & Awards and the Stage Manager at the annual Calabar Festival.
Speaking on the development, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Eric Anderson appreciated the gesture, saying that by doing this, the Governor has expressed a high level of interest and investment in the entertainment industry in the state.
